Fall asleep faster & sleep better
Need a little help fixing your sleep patterns? There’s an app for that. Actually, there are a whole bunch of apps for that. Nature sounds, self-hypnosis and even tutorials that will help guide you to your quiet place, where you can bid farewell to the day and welcome sleep with open arms.
Sweet dreams!
1. Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock App
One of the best-known sleep (and most popular) apps, Sleep Cycle, tracks sleep patterns throughout the night. Instead of setting a specific time to wake up, you give the app a 30-minute window and it wakes you gently during your lightest sleep phase. Data is stored in the app so you can see how well you sleep each night, as well as track sleep habits over time. Learn to change your sleep patterns by tweaking your bedtime, wearing noise-canceling headphones or getting a more comfortable mattress. Just saying!
Sleep Cycle is available on iOS and Android. For even more data, try MotionX: 24/7 Sleeptracker or for Android-only, try Sleep as Android.
3. Nature Sounds Relax and Sleep
We love this app because it’s great background noise for reading or falling asleep. Choose from a variety of nature sounds, including a crackling campfire, songbirds or the roar of the ocean. Tranquil images accompany the soundtracks if you’d like to use the app to help you meditate. Set the built-in alarm to wake you. Sweet, right?
Nature Sounds Relax and Sleep is available only for Android devices.
4. aSleep
Packed with 65 high-quality sounds, this app allows users to customize their pre-sleeping experience. Along with nature, instruments and lullabies, you’ll see a «Life» category with sounds of helicopters, showers, bubbles and even a heart beating. There are also contemplative meditation tunes. Pick a sound. Set the timer. Start relaxing.
aSleep is available only for iOS devices
5. Relax Melodies
With 64 high-quality ambient melodies, you’ll be escaping restless nights in no time. This sleep-assistance app incorporates 2 binaural beats, an alarm and a timer system to allow for short naps or use all night long. You can also save, name and replay your favorites.
Relax Melodies is available for iOS devices.
